Connecting the People Behind Global Trade

Global trade involves multiple parties, financial transactions, invoices, documentation, and payment timelines. Tradely brings these participants together through a digital trade-finance marketplace.

Our goal was to create a scalable product experience that could support three distinct users — Sellers, Buyers, and Funders — while keeping complex financial workflows clear, structured, and easy to navigate.

Designing a Multi-Sided Trade Finance Platform

Different Users, Different Goals:: Sellers, Buyers, and Funders have distinct needs. The challenge was to create role-specific experiences within one unified product.

Complex Financial Workflows:: Trade finance involves invoices, transactions, funding, and approvals. The challenge was to turn these complex processes into clear, manageable journeys.

Information Hierarchy: :Financial dashboards contain complex data. We created a clear hierarchy across values, statuses, filters, and actions for quick understanding.

Trust & Transparency: :Financial transactions require clarity. We made statuses, documents, payments, and workflow progress visible at every stage.

User Persona

Understanding the People Behind Trade Finance

Instead of designing one generic financial dashboard, we identified three core users and designed around the different decisions each user needs to make.

Admin / Platform Manager

Manage the Tradley platform, users, companies, transactions, approvals, documents, and overall platform activity while ensuring security, accuracy, compliance, and smooth operations.

Seller / Exporter

Sellers have completed a trade but may need to wait for their buyers to pay. They use the platform to submit invoices, request financing, track funding, and manage their transactions.

Buyer / Importer

Buyers need to maintain supplier relationships while managing their own cash flow and payment obligations while ensuring timely payments and uninterrupted trade operations.

Funder / Investor

Funders need visibility into opportunities and the information required to evaluate and manage investments with confidence, transparency, and informed decision-making throughout the lifecycle.

Purpose and Direction

Designing One Connected Experience for Three Personas

Our direction was to simplify trade finance without hiding the complexity that users need to make informed financial decisions.

Design each experience around the user's actual goals and responsibilities.

Present financial information in a structured hierarchy instead of overwhelming users with data.

Make transaction status, funding progress, documents, and payment information easy to track.

Create a shared design language across Seller, Buyer, and Funder experiences.

Build reusable patterns and components that can support growing transaction volumes and future functionality.

With the core workflows established, we moved into high-fidelity product design. The goal was to create a clear and scalable interface capable of handling complex financial information while keeping everyday actions simple.

Tradley brings complex trade documents, product information, supplier details, and transaction data into one structured experience. Teams can quickly find the information they need, reduce manual effort, and make faster, more confident decisions.
